guys, sometimes I am getting the below weird exception when I ran the script in Vugen, sometimes the script works fine for number of iteration and all the sudden i get this exception, any idea what causing this exception:
Exception was raised when calling event-notify Vuser function in extension run_time_context.dll
Thanks Jim for your reply, its web/http, and yes I tried google and found couple of similar messages but nothing useful, and yes i have the extended log on...the problem is nothing happening before this exception, BUT sometimes it works fine :-) its really odd
I did encountered this issue at times when test data is not appropriate.
Verify your parameter files for test data accuracy and required string length. (No spaces after the last test data in a row etc.).
This is generally associated with memory access violations as well. So you need to verify for any dangling pointers you might have or somewhere you might not be releasing the reference which is otherwise required.
Notice the double slashes before the default.cfg file, if I try accessing this path I would get not a valid path message, if I remove one of the double slashes before "default.cfg" file then it works...so my question why did LoadRunner adds the second slash? Where can I set the path for the run-time settings? Is it in the bin folder?
The error message I am getting is:
Error: Exception was raised when calling event-notify Vuser function in extension run_time_context.dll: System Exceptions: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
I am doubtful that it is related to run time settings. If this is related to run-time settings configuration file, you should have faced similar problem with every script.
This error is somewhere related to parameter file settings or your C code. Could you please check and verify that you are pointing each parameter to appropriate file name and parameter name (in-case parameter values are clubbed into a single file)? Any miss-out does cause this problem.
Thanks Vinay for your reply...this was my first guess, I checked all parameters files and made sure they are local and using the right parameters names and source files...do you know what really puzzling? If I run the same script in a scenario (in the controller with multiple users) it works fine!! but if I try it in vugen in my local machine or in the controller machine I get the exception...weird
