    DataPower and LoadRunner

Anyone have any past experience with executing performance tests against web applications in an environment that has a IBM DataPower appliance?

Any issues or anything to watch out for?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

Are you refering to Websphere SOA application server?

In such case, there will not be any issue with working on LR.

    Regards,

    Yes, the SOA thingy. http://www-01.ibm.com/software/integration/datapower/#

I wish there was no issue with it, but there is. If I execute 7 itereations in serial, it processes everything just fine. If I execute 7 iterations concurrently then it fails 4 and passes 3.

The error shows as "Rejected by policy" but we have no idea what policy.

    Re: DataPower and LoadRunner

Time to speak to the datapower admins. My best guess is that you have a session uniqueness issue that datapower does not like. If you run serially then you only ever have your single user credential set active active in isolation, but as soon as you run concurrently you face a singfluar credential set logged in potentially with multiple instances. I have seen situations like this which would cause a business rule/policy violation for number of concurrent logins for a credential set.

    Hi,

You can make a try on using "IP Spoofing" to avoid this session uniqueness issue when you run in concurrency mode.

    Re: DataPower and LoadRunner

Resolved. The data power admin had not enabled asynchronous processing, so the box was choking.
