Tool used: HP Loadrunner 11.0 with web bundle license
Application: Java and back end DB2
DB2 server os: Linux/x8664
Issue: When i tried to add the DB2 server resource measurement in the load runner with DB2 user id and password the following error is thrown.
The attach new instance command failed.DBInstance name: ,user:sdf, password:xxx.
Hint: Please check your login, password, and instance name.
Details: SQL1427 An instance attachment does not exist. [MsgId: MMSG-47166]
1) I have installed the DB2 client in the controller and connected to the server through DB2 client CLI.
2) Defined the monitor client and added the database manager instance to the server.
But still when i try to add the resource measurement in the controller by giving user id and password the above mentioned error appears.
Re: Error while adding DB2 Server in Load Runner 11
Beginning with LoadRunner version 8 the recommended monitoring foundation solution moved away from staging the monitors in the controller to using SiteScope as a proxy to collect the information for you. With each version of LoadRunner shipped since then a default license of 500 SiteScope points has been included.
From your description it appears that you are trying to monitor directly from the controller. Consider the use of SiteScope as the preferred monitoring foundation for LoadRunner 11 to implement your DB2 monitor and then connect your LoadRunner controller to your SiteScope instance to collect the metric during the test.
