I haven't seen this posted so what I'm wondering is if anyone has actually tried this and what the results were. I did submit a ticket to HP. Suppor ticket# 4001458861.
We only have a production environment for LoadRunner and no test environment.
If we have LoadRunner 11 on a Win 2008 server and LoadRunner 9.52 on a Win 2003 server can they each use the other's generator?
We would like to upgrade from v9.52 to v11 and were trying to cut down on the hardware needed for the updgrade by using one of the two servers we currently have for 9.52 as a generator and install LR 11 on it, then test it with the generator on the other server and then later make that one LR 11 as well.
We do not have a test environment for LR so this would reduce risk if we can do this.
Re: Can a LR 11 controller call a LR 9.52 generator?
Got the answer from HP quick:

you can't not use different version our recommendation is to has the same LR version on the controller and LG.
If you have different version you May have a lot of errors when you try to run the test, I understand your concern but as told you this may give you a lot of errors.
