Re: how to get started and create scripts in PT(LR)
1. Confirm your core skills. There are many outside of tool mechnics you need to have strengths in before you come to performance testing
2. Attend tool training for creation of web services protocol virtual users
3. Work with a mentor. As you are new to performance testing and the tool you will need the guiding hand of a more experienced individual to meet with any degree of sucess.
4. If you are trying to check functionality and performance at the same time then you will fail on both.
As you are coming from a primarily functional testing background training and mentoring are key. A very different set of skills is required for success in performance testing when compared to automated functional testing. Otherwise tossing a functional tester into performance testing is a lot like asking a dermatologist to step in for a thoracic surgeon.....after all being a medical professional is all the same, right?
