You have a major process issue which requires training. If it will not work for one it will not scale for many. To combine functional and performance testing into one test is toe ensure that you are successful in neither set of tests.
Here is your opportunity to go to your management and ask for a training and mentoring plan to get you up to speeed where you can be effective in this role. Your dominant activity in GUI tier with functional test tools will work against you as you move to new layers of the OSI model for work with LoadRunner (or any performance test tool).
If your management resists, then ask your managers from CSC to come here and state their case and evidence that no additional training or mentoring is required for a functional testers to be successful in a performance testing role. We'll be happy to peer review their hypothesis and evidence and provide feedback.
