Protocol for load test on Swing Application???

    Hi...

Am new to LoadRunner and evaluating Load Runner to use for our Swing Based application.

    Below are the details:

    Load Runner version : 9.1
    License Type : Permanent/Unlimited

application For Load Test : Swing based Java Application.
    App Server used : Jboss/Weblogic
Protocol used for client communication with server : HTTP protocol

"Java Recording Replay" has no HTTP in recording protocol options.
If I use Web(HTTP/HTML) with URL based scripting option, Iam not sure how to correlate data embedded in java objects that we sent during the request.

Please suggest me in this regard.

Have you been through HP standard LoadRunner training with an HP certified instructor and are you currently enrolled in a mentoring program for your continued professional development?

    Hi James,

No.. I havenot undergone any traning program. Am evaluating loadrunner to see if it can be used for our swing based java application which communicates to app server over http protocol. I have gone thru several posts but unable to get the required information.

These two statements are diametrically opposed to one another. Your background does not provide enough technical basis for you to carry forward your evaluation effectively. Architecturally you are co-mingling your development model with your communications protocol. Please leverage your local HP/VAR systems engineer because you may need additional protocol types and they will bring the requisite expertise to the table to assist in your evaluation.

On your larger question of whether LoadRunner has been used to test servers which use Java Swing based thick clients which communicate over HTTP, the answer is yes.
