I m having 2machines(1 is Virtual machine and the other is physical machine). In the physical machine I ve installed load controller and trying to run the QTP script which inturm open the application in the virtual machine.I ve mentioned the IP address of the VMWare machine in the loadgenerator ,but could'nt able to open the application automatically in the vmware session.Any thoughts regarding how to launch the application in VMware machine through load controller.
thanks in advance.
Re: Load controller could\'nt able to run the script.
a) Do you have a GUI Virtual User License?
b) If (a) is yes, do you then have an appropriate version and type of GUI Virtual user for your 8.1 version of Controller? Appropriate versions and types of GUI Virtual User software would have shipped with your LoadRunner media. So, check out your 8.1 boxed media set for either WinRunner or QTP media for your GUI Virtual User License Support
c) Your reference of just installing a version 8.1 controller is odd, given that 8.1 is so old that it is out of support and generally one would leverage an already installed controller license, since these items are node locked and you would not be able to get a host ID for even installing 8.1 at this point from HP support. This is very odd indeed and I am having a difficult time reconciling how such an installation would be possible absent a host ID from HP support.
d) You do need to install Load Generator software inside of all of your load generators, whether they are running API virtual users or GUI vuirtual users
e) With a GUI Virtual User you would also then need to have installed an appropriate version of either WinRunner or QuickTest Professional, matched to both your virtual user type and version appropriate matched to your version of LoadRunner.
f) See older posts here for cautionary notes on using virtual users inside of virtual machines and issues associated with clock float and impacts on timing record integrity.
