Re: Diff. between Load Runner and Performance Center.
Performance Center is an architectural superset of LoadRunner. All of the LoadRunner components are present in the deployment architecture, controller, load generators, vugen, analysis, but Performance Center adds a management and access layer designed for multiple concurrent user use on top of n number of controllers.
As you are new to LoadRunner and you work for Infosys, a company that expresses a deep knowledge set in LoadRunner, now would be time to work with your management to enroll in the Infosys internal professional development program for LoadRunner and performance test professionals. Any organization which has made the rare leap from performance testing to performance engineering as a practice will have such a professional development program in place.
You should expect that your fundamental skills will be examined and reinforced. You should expect to participate in product training, delivered by an HP Certified Instructor, using HP Materials. You should expect to be involved in an intern capacity for not less than two and more likely three projects. There is a path which defines success with LoadRunner. Deviations from the path are rarely successful. People simply "thrown to the wolves" with little to no training or mentoring are never successful.
