I was looking for any published literature on what native API/Commands/utilities that LR uses for each popular unix flavours. When it comes to unix systems monitoring, I have heard differing views on whether to use LR based counters/Metrics or native OS utilities.
What has be the popular method used? Some even suggest use of sitescope as an alternative. From a cost perspective, one would like to use either LR based or native monitoring tools.
When you see discrepency between LR based metrics (let us say CPU) and native monitoring ... how would you reconcile the difference?
Re: Unix system Resources monitoring: What LR uses?
Both SiteScope and LR native leverage native tools on the respective 'NIX platforms for the collection of monitor data.
