Is anyone using WAN Emulator in LR 9.5? Is it worth the investment?
01. LR 11.1 (Patch 3)
02. Web(HTTP/HTML) URL method
05. LoadRunner 11.1
07. Subscription - 5000 Web and Multimedia
09. Win Vista Enterprise SP2/Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS/Solaris
10. I haven't filed one.
This essentially seems to be provide the same functionality which was previously available in one of the 7.x/8 versions when LoadRunner was a Mercury product.
In fact I've a feeling the partner agreement with Shunra was lost in the transition to HP and that this has now been re-negotiated and has re-surfaced in 9.5.
I've not used it under 9.5 but did use it a few years back in one of said older versions.
You effectively have a number of pre-defined latency emulation models which you could apply to one or more of your LG's, thus simulating latency from remote sites/locations.
The settings could be tweaked to build custom models.
Functionality in 9.5 seems to be very similar if not identical.
From experience this was relatively good for basic WAN emulation. I'm sure you local reps will be happy to provide demo/POC.
All depends on your requirements of course.
Hope this helps.
