Questions on LoadRunner Controller (for a newbie)
I have three questions to ask on how to set the LoadRunner scenarios.
1. I understand that we can distribute the percentage of VUsers using 'Manual Scenario' settings, but can we do a scenario mix on the VuGen scripts? Just say I have scripted 3 use cases for a particular project, how to I set in the Controller that Use Case A is executed 10% of the time, while Use Case B and C are executed 40% fo the time?
2. Just say that 1 use case = 1 transaction. I have different values of transactions/user/hour for each of the VuGen script that I need to simulate. I understand that if 20 transcations per user is needed, I ran just iterate on the 'Action' module 20 times in the 'Run-Time' settings for VuGen. But how do I limit to only 20 transactions per user for one hour, and for the next hour, another 20 transactions per user will be executed. Can I set this in the controller as well?
3. If I need to simulate users coming from different region, do I just use the 'Manual Scenario' in distributing the VUsers? But what if I need to simulate users coming in from APJ, EMEA and Americas...do I need to use Load Generators that are physically located in the 3 regions? Or if I can use a Load Generator in America to simulate the users to be coming from APJ?
Re: Questions on LoadRunner Controller (for a newbie)
Item 1 is covered in the documentation.
Item 2 - use a spreadsheet and factor in think times.
Item 3 - consider latency and refer to the documentation about distributing Vusers. It is possible that a load generator physically collocated is a good move.
