I want to monitor servers that use UNIX operatng system using load runner controller.
i have gone through the loadrunner online help for configuring the system resouces graphs to monitor the unix resources. In the onle help it is mentioned that, we need to run an Agent(rstatd daemon) on the server to be monitor. So, i want to monitor the server without running any agent on the server to be monitor. From the online help we can use SITESCOPE(agent less data collection) monitoring tool.
Can any one answer the follwng qns regarding the sitescope:
1.Can we get free trial version of site scope?
2.do we need any licences to install the sitescope monitoring tool in our machine?
3.is it is free ,then how many days it is free?
Please let me know any other information that required to acces the sitescope.
And also let me know how to configure rstatd daemon agent on the server to be monitor form our machine(the machne on which the controller is installed)?
what information we need to request the client for monitoring the servers using rstatd daemon agent and site scope?
5. what information we need to request the client for monitoring the servers using rstatd daemon agent and site scope?
This is a question to be answered by your and your customer in terms of which metrics you wish to collect and the periodicity thereof. CPU, Disk I/O and Memory certainly make sense as default.
FYI: Unless removed recently, the LoadRunner native monitor is SiteScope.
Edit - also, will this require an extension to licensing. e.g. is this another licensed component normally, or is it part of the default package.
2.1 .Net will be used but isn't the main focus.
2.2 .NET 3.5 and 4.0
5. Not currently installed
6. Not currently installed
7. 250 users, perm
9. XP sp 2 on the clients. Red Hat 9 EL on the servers.
