Configuration of Load generator without firewall

    Hi,
I am using LR9.0. I am doing test for 200 users. For less user it is working fine. But for 200Vusers some of the transactions are failing, it is due to that the Load Generator is not configured properly. I want to connect from the own system where load runner is installed to a Unix server where Loadrunner is not installed. There is no firewall in between. Can you please let me know how we can configure the loadgenerator, so that we can connect to the unix server. I have added the server IP and platform, but after clicking connect, it shows 'Failed to connect to the agent.Load Generator not responding after timeout'.
Please help me on this ASAP.

    Thanks

Re: Configuration of Load generator without firewall

As you are a TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) employee, please seek out an internal LoadRunner mentor to validate your performance test bed. You may also refer to the first couple of chapters of the LoadRunner course material which cover the architecture of LoadRunner and which components are to be installed on a particular host related to the function of the host in question.

To use a host as a load generator requires the installation of a number of core services on the particular host. Once these core services have been installed, and assuming no intrusions by security devices between controller and load generator hosts, you should simply be able to specify a given host for use as a load generator from the controller. This is true whether the load generator host operating system is Windows, UNIX, or LINUX.
