    Hi Guys,

I've recorded and correlated a script to load test the SAP Portal which is working fine. However, when running through the controller the users eventually fail as they have too many sessions open. Is there a way to close a web browser and kill any associated sessions through LoadRunner?

    Thanks Heaps

    Gavin

    Re: Closing Web Brower Sessions

Check your runtime settings in the scenario (not the Vugen runtime settings for the scripts). Are you running each user as a process or threaded?

Have you checked the load generators themselves to see how much cpu, RAM etc. the Vusers are using, such that the Vusers are not "suffocating" the generator(s)?

    Re: Closing Web Brower Sessions

Thanks for the reply. I'm running as a thread. There is not a lot of load on the generators as I was only running 10 users (5 on each generator).
I was interesting in knowing whether there was a way to close down a browser via vugen as the recorded script does not contain in code to close it so eventually the SAP Portal spits the dummy and locks out my users

    Re: Closing Web Brower Sessions

Well, the load generators are not actually running a browser. If the portal is mis-configured, killing off the Vusers is masking a problem - correct?

    Anyway...

What is the session timeout for the portal connections?

    You could try adding a web_disable_keep_alive();

Other than that there are some other options:
    1) Use winsock. That gives you total control, or
    2) Using LR's "system();" call you could call pslist/pskill. You would need to get the process id of mmdrv and kill off the appropriate mmdrv.exe. With the low number of users you would probably have only one instance of mmdrv. - pslist/pskill -

I would start with your portal admin to see if it is properly configured, because...

At this point in this dialog it seems what you are wanting to do is the equivalent of ...

<font color="brown">My vehicle's engine is making funny noises. Therefore I will soundproof my vehicle's cabin so I do not hear the noises. </font>

assumed the Vusers are/were logging out per below post.

    Re: Closing Web Brower Sessions

    Hi,
one question: Did you include a log off or closing of the browser in your script?
If yes, then it might be that some correlation is missing in your log off part. SAP NetWeaver Portal scripts need a lot of correlation...

    Cheers,

    Re: Closing Web Brower Sessions

I am not sure if you are using similar user id's for logging in to the application for all the users in your test.

If so can you try using distinct user id for each user?

    thanks,
