    - LR 9.10

    2. What is the protocol you are recording?

2.1 If .NET, which version of .NET does the app require?

2.2 If .NET, which version of .NET do you have installed?
    - MetaStorm is a C# application, but we are using the HTTP protocol

2.3 If OracleNCA with Oracle Forms Server, please list the version of Oracle Forms Server. You can get this info from the main Oracle Form when launched - Help -> About
    - N/A

    3. If HTML - are you using HTML-Advanced with URLs or,

    4. If URL mode:
    - Without Concurrent groups (for now)

    5. Which LoadRunner/PerformanceCenter feature (FPs) or service packs are you using?
    - Resource monitoring

    6. VuGen Recording - are you using Old or New Recording Engine?
    - New

    7. What kind of LoadRunner license do you have -
    - Subscription,

    8. If subscription, is subscription current or expired?
    - current

    9. What platform(s) (PCs) and Operating Systems (Windows-XP, etc.)? Include version and service packs (SP1 or 2, etc.)
    XPSP2 (Controller), Server 2003 (LG & SUT), Solaris 10 for x86 (SUT)

I am trying to create a script that works with 2 parallel applications

We have a portal application running under Solaris with iPlanet and a MetaStorm(C#) application running on Windows S3K with IIS.
When the portal client clicks a link JavaScript sends an HTTP request for an item to the second using a computed URL and pops up a 'spinner' child window (animation).
The second application(MetaStorm)reacts to the request and creates an HTML window containing the item on the client workstation that is (unsurprisingly unrelated to the calling window) and kills the spinner window. It is really a separate session. {I didn't architect it ;-) ]

From LoadRunner's point of view the 'child' window has exited without sending an HTTP 200, complains, and goes about it's business.
It does not detect the 2nd application's window (no surprise). Clicking links in the MetaStorm window produces 'interesting' results in the recording and nothing in plaback. Some frames in the window are populated and frame data is partially populated.

So, is there any mechanism to 'tell' LR that the MetaStorm window is a child of the Portal window? For session management reasons I don't think a second script with rendezvous to the first would work, but I am a relative newbie (working with a couple of very experienced people).

The MetaStorm, HP, and this fora do not indicate that anyone had used MetaStorm & LoadRunner together.

Any suggestions or pointers would be appreciated.

    Re: Script for parallel applications

You have an "out of process" application which is not going to be able to respond to the automatic proxy recording configuartion of the first browser process.

Consider using the proxy recorder in standalone mode, using a hard redirect of all of your applications to the proxy address ({hostname}:7777) with the idea that any "in process" and "out of process" items that are being sent through the appropriate proxied recorder address would be captured for script development purposes.
