    LR: web/http timeout setting

    Hi there,

Is there any way to set a timeout higher than 1000 seconds?
Loadrunner seemingly allows max 1000 seconds, but this is far to low. I am testing reports which take up to 30 minutes to complete - so if anybody knows a workaround for this please let me know.

    Required Info:

    1. What version of LoadRunner (LR) or PerformanceCenter (PC) are you using? (specify which tool LR or PC)
    (substitute your answer here)
    --LR 8.1

    2. What is the protocol you are recording?
    (substitute your answer here)
    --Web/Http, URL based

    3. If HTML - are you using HTML-Advanced with URLs or,
    (indicate yes/no)
    --I don't know this setting.
    URL based: yes
    HTml based: no
    web custom requests: no

    4. If URL mode:
    - Concurrent groups, or
    - Without Concurrent groups?
    (indicate which)
    --using concurrent groups

    5. Which LoadRunner/PerformanceCenter feature (FPs) or service packs are you using?
    (List details here)
    --none (don't know of any)

    6. VuGen Recording - are you using Old or New Recording Engine?
    (indicate which)
    --VuGen recording, as installed.

    7. What kind of LoadRunner license do you have -
    - Subscription,
    - Perpetual,
    - Permanent/Unlimited
    - Virtual User days, or
    - Evaluation?
(choose the one that fits your license model - (substitute your answer here))

    --unlimited

    9. What platform(s) (PCs) and Operating Systems (Windows-XP, etc.)? Include version and service packs (SP1 or 2, etc.)

    --XP Sp2

    Regards.

    Re: LR: web/http timeout setting

    Hi,

For increaring the timeout in a HTTP/HTML based script use the following settings:

Go to Runtime settings -> Preferences -> Options tab -> Under General dropdown change the value of Step download timeout to 1800 sec's (ie 30 min).

    Hope this helps.
