I have this Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise server with IIS 6.0 and SQL server 2005. I tried to install QC 9.2 on it with IIS as web service and Jboss as application service. The installation did not prompt any error message. The QC html pages show up in IIS management window. The QC databases show up in SQL management window. But the QC tray icon shows up as disabled. Windows service management does not show the presence of QC service or Jboss service. When trying to enter the QC management webpage, the login page shows up, but can't log in because of "Server is not available." See the attached sceen shot.
After some research I determined it's because the Jboss service was not successfully installed as a windows service. So I use file browser to navigate to the Jboss folder inside the QC's installed folder and found a file run.bat. I run the file and Jboss service is up. Then I can log in to QC and use it.
The problem is I can not make Jboss service a Windows service. So I'll have to always manually start it by executing run.bat. Please let me know how I can make Jboss a windows service. Thanks.
Re: JBoss can not be installed as a Windows service w
I've been running QC92 on a Win2K3 box with JBoss since about Februrary or March, haven't seen that problem. In the Services Consule it shows up as Mercury Quality Center. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software?
