Can parameters be passed through multiple tests?
Does QC support passing parameters defined in the Design Step tab through multiple sub test/component calls? To be a little more clear...
From my high level test I call a component that accepts a parameter <<<PARAM1>>>. In this case the called component also calls another component that happens to also accept a parameter <<<PARAM1>>>. I would like to be able to pass the parameter from the highest level test through the initial called component to the lower level called component. The trouble I am having is that QC does not seem to allow me to edit these calls in any fashion and pass a parameter through.
Does anyone know any way to do this?
Re: Can parameters be passed through multiple tests?
I'll chime in in terms of using it with scripted business components. I dont deal with manual stuff, so I can't offer any help there.
You can pass parameters to components through input/output parameters.
To link them, you would select input2 as Output Of Previous Component (in this case Component1/output1)
To pass across test cases, we use a text file to read/write values. We also use text files to configure some global test options, instead of creating multiple test sets.
