Hi. Auditing a project where they're up to defect 5000.
mysteriously, there is 18 defect ids which are myseriously non-existant..

There are a number of possibilities for this:
1. an old version of quality center/test director marked the defect id as used, but didn't end up saving it.

2. the client has deleted the defects from the back office because of a nefarious reasons.

Can anyone put this to bed? was there an old version of QC/TD which "used" the ID but didn't save any data against the ID?

Is there an official way of "deleting" a defect id off the face of the earth? Or only database deletes?
