there have been lots of threads on the same topic before...You will find your answers if you search the forum..Pls search the forum before posting in the future
here are the steps
1. Install QTP addin
2. Install Connectivity addin
3. Open QTP>Goto Tools>Settings>Run
Checkmark the box that says "Allow Mercury Products to run Tests and components"
4. Go to QC TestLab and run the QTP Test from there
I have saved a lot of scripts, and a couple of object repositories in QC. Later, I created another folder and copied the original folder and pasted it to the new folder. But, the issue is: now I am getting missing resources once I try to open any of the Test from the new folder. I know I can map them but I would like to know whether there is a way that can resolve without mapping actions, and OR. Any idea please!
I don't know if there is a simple solution to what you are trying to do there.
I assume that while writing your scripts you have not taken care to remove the hard coding of the action paths.
Now that you have moved all your actions to a new folder, you need to actually update all the scripts to call the action from the new folder.
It's kind of a better practice in QTP to have your resources not called from a hard coded path, just to avoid the kind of problem you are facing now.
Thanks for your reply with some notion with regards to this issue. Do you or someone else has any idea on how to resolve this issue? That is, what is the mechanism to call an existing action in QTP and what would be the best practice in QTP to save an action so that you won't face this kind of issue? How could we avoid this hard coded path?
