Capturing Information From Manual Runner
I'm hoping this is an easy one.
Currently I customising our defect reporting screen for a new project. With this new project it is the first time we will be using Test Plan and Test Lab.
All the tests are run using Manual Runner.
When a test fails with manual runner when raising a defect from the manual runner window I want to customise the information carried across to the description field of the defect report.
So under the defects_bug_new event I have set the value of the description field and this all works fine.
What I also want to add is the Testset name and the description of the test step that failed but I am groping about blindly trying to find out how to do this?
Anyone able to provide a helping hand?
Re: Capturing Information From Manual Runner
If I understand you -- You will be using the manual runner. QC 9.0 When on a step that has failed, With the manual run still running, the tester clicks new defect or add and link defect buttons The Test Set: ,Test:,Run: ,Test Parameters:, and Step: information is all transfered.
If the defect is only created from the run level only the RUN: is transfered, Same for Test -- the Test Set is transfered.
If the testers are running manual test then they should create the defect on the step that fails. If they put in their actual results it will be transfered as well as the other information you required. Makes it much easier for the team resolving the defects.
