Executing Test cases in validation environment
We work in a validated environment (Pharma Industry). We do validation testing. Recently we started using HP QC 9.2 for validation testing.
My question is, suppose we are doing validation testing and during testing we have found some error (could be test error, or script error) then we logged a defect. After developer has fixed the defect, we need to continue the testing... So is it advisable to continue with the same script instance execution or copy the script, create the test set and reexecute the whole script ggain?
ANy suggestion in this regards is highly appreciated.
Re: Executing Test cases in validation environment
That was a hot question for us as well. Although not Pharma but SOX compliance. The arguments are pretty evenly divided. Our external auditors buckled and allow the same run to be continued as long as the defect was linked at the step level of a manual run. And the Acutal Results where appended rather than replaced with the passing results. The main reason they relented was that our test data is unique. Once we create we need to clear environment to enable us to run a seperate iteration of the test with the same parameters.
I know that this doesn't answer your question. I feel our pain.
