Reordering the steps
While executing a test case from test lab, I found that a step is been missing and added the same. The new step has been added as a last step, can any one let me know whether we can reorder the steps while execution. My intention is that I want to add the new step as step# 2 of 10. If so, how can we do that.
Please help me out.
Thanks in advance.
Re: Reordering the steps
I was told by Mercury that you may not reorder the steps in during the run. It is possible to go back to the test plan correct the numbering and then start a new run. The 2nd run will have the steps number correctly. I was told that this is to perserve the integrity of the run. It does cause problems if you are on step 50 of a manual run the tester certainly doesn't like needing to rerun the 50 steps to add one.
This probably wasn't what you wanted to hear. Maybe HP has some better advice?
