Currently in TestLab, I have an 'Iterations' column (System Field) which has no value in it. I expected this to increment when an iteration of a test has completed but currently it continues to show no value.
I was wondering if it is possible to create a rule in workflow to increment this field by 1 on ending a manual run where the status of the iteration is passed or failed.
If anyone could point to where i would do this it would be very much appreciated.
i then wish to set up a graph which plots planned iterations (user field) against actual iterations.
The iterations field you speak of isn't something you can change the value in for display.
It is used for data-driven tests (Business Components specifically) so the number of iterations for the test can be defined.
Best you make your own field if you want to track that information. As for the updating of the field at the end of the run all I can suggest is to look into the Manual Runner events and see if you can find one to trigger off the state you are looking for prior to the iteration, then you can increment it.
More than likely you will need to link the manual test info back to the TestSet, and that can get tricky as the only way I can thin of doing it would be at the database level, and that really isn't something you want to do with updating the database fields outside of the functions of WinRunner if it can be helped.
