QC9.0 (probably 8.2 and 9.2 also) have an annoying feature of sorting the user fields in the customize/project_entities by field label. I'd like to see this sorting by field name - but is this possible in any way?
Picture this - I have a really specific project(s) that are using like 20 user fields in TEST, TESTSET and TEST IN TESTSET why not even in REQUIREMENTS and DEFECTS - who knows.
If I want to update say TC_USER_1 which has value "Vendor release" and want to find the TC_USER_1 at the first place in my list... now when QC sorts the lists against the label name it's like sorting people's names in phonebook with their middlename.
If this is not possible to do - I sure hope that HP/Mercury will update this to their next release 9.something or 10. Like a button that says "order by label name" and "order by field name".
We have really custom projects going on and I have to work in the customize-section all the time and I'm always struggling to find the TC_USER_4 or CY_USER_12 and so on... because the lists are sorted by the label. Aargh!
That is a feature/defect you are just going to have to live with unfortunately. They sorting is a pain when it does it alphabetically instead of by the field it was created against, but that is a page/tool that is supplied to you and something you can't customize.
I do have to agree it is annoying. Even with 3-4 fields present it is annoying.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
