I am using QC 9.2 and QTP 9.1 with a web application. I have searched the forum under "attachments" and "saving files".
I am keeping my xls files for my datasheets for QTP in a folder in the test plan. I cannot save any changes to these files. When I make a change to one of these files and hit the save button and then open the file the change was not saved. Is there some setting or permission that need to be set in order for me to make and save changes to these files?
Re: How to save files that are stored as attachments
have your QC admin look into the permissions you have set up for you in the group you belong.
You can set permissions to add files, as well as restict them from being modified. If you don't have modify priviledges, then you aren't going to be able to change anything you have saved.
unless you have delete priviledges, then you can open what you have, delete that in QC and then readd it, but that is only meant as a workaround suggestion if you have that access setting enabled for you and not a solution. If you need to modify the files then your admin should check into the settings for your account/group setting
