The Mercury Support site has the answer as "Problem ID: 38342" under TestDirector in their Knowledge Base. There is a down-loadable periodic scheduler that works with the "Microsoft Scheduler" (part of Windows installation).
Thanks Tony. Using the Mercury KB I only have access to specific portions of the site. It won't allow me to search the Test Director portion of the site, so when I search for Problem id it came back with 0 results. That's why I was frustrated with the Mercury KB search engine. I will try and search the microsoft site to see if I can find the tool that Rich was talking about.
What that means is you haven't set up your profile to tell them you have a valid license to Test Director for Quality Center.
You have to:
1) go into the "My Account" section of the site (there is a button in the top left of the main page once you log in).
2) Click on the "My Product List" link.
3) Add in TD for QC by selecting it from the list of products, and enter the MPN your company has for the tool.
4) repeat #3 for each individual extension you need to add
Once you have done that, it might take 24 hours for HP/Mercury to confirm, but you should be given access to search the knowledge base for that tool. They don't automatically open up all the information. It is all tool specific and you have to prove that you have a valid MPN.
Thanks for the info. I have sent the MPN that we have to get Test Director added to my profile. Given the fact that it's 2007, shouldn't this process be a bit more streamlined? 24 hours is a long time to wait to give your boss the answer he is looking for. It took them five days and multiple requests to activate my support account. I know that I'm probably preaching to the choir. thanks again for your help!
