We are not able to send any emails from the Admin section also , the Test is failing.
We have given SMTP as the mailing protocol and then given the SMTP Host name also.
But still when trying to send the Test email the QC is shoing one error message stating that Mail sending has failed due to SMTP server is not configured properly , but its not like that we have checked that by pinging and also tel net that server its replying properly.
We were recently experiencing a similar problem. I was able to fix it by reviewing the properties of the Mercury Quality Center service running on our server. I discovered that the service was loggin og as an administrator on the server and not as system log on. I switced this to "Local System Account" log on, and this fixed the problem.
Also, be sure that you MAIL_INTERVAL is not set to less than 10 min in your site configuration. Apparently this causes issues with the auto-sendmail functionality in QC.
be sure that port 25 on your QC sever is not blocked by your Virus protection software.
