    All,
We are upgrading from QC 9.0 to QC 9.2. Can any one help me to tell how I can take Backup of projects from QC Server and also any tips on how to upgrade from 9.0 to 9.2. Any experiences are highly appretiated. [stupid is as stupid does].

It's only a patch. Just install it.

I know its just a patch. But, when you are doing it on a server we should be very careful. If you go wrong it will affect all the projects. What all should I backup first before I install the patch.

If you are using the database repository, I would suggest having a backup of the database first. Recently we had to completely re-install Quality Center. The dB was not touched by this in any way, and Quality Center had all of the information back just the way it was before the re-install. You'll be fine...

Backing up the data base at regular intervals is always good practice. Backing up everything before making any major updates or changes is also always a good practice.

Read the upgrade instructions provided with 9.2. If you follow it to the letter you shouldn't have much of a problem. It is recommended that you migrate the old admin db schema to a new admin db schema. Then, once the admin console is up and running, upgrade your 9.0 projects to 9.2. It is essential that you have proper DB user permissions as well since QC will need to create a new Admin schema.

Any idea the custom vb script that we have put in QC 9.0 will exist after installing QC 9.2?
