I am using QC 9.0 and QTP 9.1 on Windows XP OS. I have searched this forum under QTP and error messages. I have also searched the Mercury KB.
I am getting a "The type of the token is inappropriate for its attempted use" error when I try to run a QTP test from the test lab of QC. I have the QC connectivity and the QTP 9.1 add-ins installed. I also have the "Allow other mercury products......" check box checked. The test set I am working with has QTP test and manuel test. When I try to run any test when the QTP tests are there I get the error. When I remove the QTP tests from the test set then I am able to run the manuel ones. I have not been able to find anything in this error.
You might try this:
For Windows XP Classic View, use the instructions for Windows 2000. For Windows XP Category View, follow these steps:
Open the "Start" menu and click on "Control Panel".
Open "Performance and Maintenance".
Open "Administrative Tools" and select "Local Security Policy".
Make sure that the account in question is not listed or a member of a group listed in the "Deny logon locally" policy.
But this doesn't sound like your problem.
Good luck with HP Support.
