Extracting QC Metrics to a Web Page?
I am attempting to extract metrics from the QC MS SQL db to an intranet webpage. Has someone done this before that could point me in the right direction? I had done it in Test Director a few years ago in an ASP page but I am new to QC9 and the DB schema seems entirely different now, and I do not have access to decent documentation.
I assume my best bet is still an ASP page, but if someone has done it a different way, please let me know.
The data I am trying to extract is information such as:
Number of Sev 1 and 2 defects for a particular project and iteration, or how many of those defects have been resolved versus still open.
Any pointers are greatly appreciated.
Re: Extracting QC Metrics to a Web Page?
If you have a working solution from TD, updating it for QC9 should be easier that starting from scratch. The database schema has changed, but not by much. Most vital tables even remain unchanged. The API is also primarily the same. If you were to upload the ASP page you used before, that would be easier.
As for good documentation, QC9 has better documentation on table structure and the API than TD did. Look at the QC online documentation and download the OTA guide.
