I am reporting a validation as passed to QC within a QTP script. I am able to create the Step name, update the status, and add the description of the step in QTP and pass those values to QC by using this line. Reporter.ReportEvent 0, "Validation Passed", "Passed".
Is there a way to also update the Expected results and Actual results on the same step, and have those values update in QC, so they are able to be viewed while viewing results in the Test Lab?
Your help is appreciated. Thank you.
To my knowledge, there is not a way to have it report Expected and Actual results in QC the way a manual test will. You can, however, provide this information within the description of your Reporter.ReportEvent statement.
Reporter.ReportEvent micPass, "Step Name", "Expected Result: <what you expected>; Actual Result: <what actually happened>"
Beyond this, I don't think you can do what you're wanting.
