Adding a test step during a Manual Run
Ok. In QC9, test lab. I can start a manual run. If I find I need to add a step to my test plan. I can add the step during the run. However, the step is created at the end of the other steps. If I click end run I am prompted to save changes to the test plan. I respond yes. Then exit the test lab, enter the test plan and I can move the new step to the correct location and renumber. Then I can go back to the Test Lab and start a new run of the test that now includes the new step in the proper sequence.
Is there anyway that I can create a new step during a manual run and 1. either have it created in the correct sequence ( I designate that it is created between Steps 1 and 2. 2. Or move it to the create order without having to go to the test plan , resequencing and then back to the lab to start a new run.
The users would like to add a step in the correct position during a manual run.
We have already been through the "adding a new step invalidates the current run" they don't buy it and want to do as they can in the test plan module. Create a new step, and renumber it... during a manual run.
Re: Adding a test step during a Manual Run
I think it should be possible to do this via workflowscript.
You can trigger the "ActionCanExecute" function like this:
if Actionname = "act_add_step" then
'Add a new step....
I hope this will help you.
