Re: Error:\"RPC server is unavilable\" or \"Access denied
Try installing QTP9.1, in the install package there is an option to automatically configure Windows XP for all the DCOM and FireWall troubles.
Re: Error:\"RPC server is unavilable\" or \"Access de
I have found that for clients running WinRunner on WinXP SP2 machines you need to disable the Windows firewall (Start > Run > firewall.cpl etc.) and then change a DCOM security setting by (Start > Run > dcomcnfg etc.). Here's a link with the exact change to make to the DCOM security:
It looks like you really only need to make the first change to grant "Access Permission" for "ANONYMOUS LOGON" to "Remote Access" http://www.softwaretoolbox.com/xpsp2...ermissions.jpg
I ended up not changing the "Launch Permission" settings at all on our WinRunner machines because it wasn't necessary.
Good Luck! Scott
