We have just completed the pilot project for Quality Center version 9.0 and will now be adding more projects to the tool. At the time being we have a set number of available licenses, and I wonder for those who are experienced using QC, is there a general formula you use for the number of licenses you allocate per project. So for example, for our pilot we allocated 5 licenses for a team of 20 or so QA/Devl staff. Since it was a pilot, and we were tweaking the process, I don't think 5 licenses for a staff of 20 would work when we move to production. I would appreciate hearing any of your opinions regarding this subject.
The only real way you can determine the number of licenses is to try it out and monitor the usage. That is a function of the Site Admin. Under the Site Configuration Tab make sure you have a "Site_Analysis" entry. If not, add it. "Add New" replace "Parameter Name" with Site_Analysis and "Parameter Value" with "Y".
You will get a new TAB named "Site Analysis" which will graph your license usage. We have 26 Licenses and over 150 users with no issues. If WR or QTP logs in, it does not use a license.
