Hi Team, Can anyone help me on my below query. Please note I知 quite new to query builder in HP ALM.
I知 looking for query builder in HP ALM V12. Somehow I can稚 find it in dashboard and I知 logged in as admin permission.
Is it possible for you to point me the navigation steps for the same and also if you have any generic SQL to get report would be helpful I知 looking for some reports from defect and test module of HP ALM.
Thanks for your help!
What exactly are you referring to as "query builder"? Is it functionality you saw in another version of ALM?
In previous versions (earlier than 12) of ALM in the Dashboard module under the Analysis view there was an option to build Excel reports, and that option would give you a dialog where you could build SQL queries. In version 12, that functionality was deprecated. Pre-existing Excel reports could still be run, but new ones could not be created. The functionality can be re-enabled using a Site Configuration parameter.
In version 11.5x HP also implemented a new reporting feature called Business Views. You should review the user documentation to find out more about that feature.

I知 looking for to work with HP ALM query builder not on new functionality, but I知 new to work with this functionality hence I need some assistance. Thanks for clarification on query builder usage.
I知 looking for details from defect and test module of HP ALM. Do you have any SQL scripts from that I can build my own requirement etc?

Generally you would start with requirements and then build your SQL scripts, not the other way around.
Have you reviewed the documentation and the database schema? If so, start with SELECT * from your first table and work your way from there. Nobody else will know what user-defined columns or list values you have available.
You can get it under HP ALM Help section. Most of the OTA docs available in internet will be for old versions and also ALM 12 has changed some methods. Better download it from your ALM help. OTA - Open Test Architechture
Thank/Like to help others if my input helped you !!!
