the new ALM 12.01 support desktop app and web client ...
we are working with the desktop app on laptop and with the web client in the lab ,
i would like to sync all rules and list to be the same in web and desktop
it is possible ? if yes how ..?
Lists associated to fields should be the same for the fields in a given project regardless of which client you use; the Explorer application, the classic client that runs only in IE, or the new browser agnostic web client. The lists are stored in the database for the project, and all clients access the same database.
I'm not sure what you mean by "rules", so here is some info that I think addresses your question.
If by rules you mean the data hiding and permissions that are defined in the Project Customization > Groups and Permissions, I think that should also carry through all clients.
If by rules you mean custom workflow code, that is a different story. Workflow code is used only by the classic client (and maybe the Explorer application). The web client cannot use the custom workflow code. If you have rules implemented through workflow code, you will have to try to re-implement them using the Business Rules feature in the web client. And, Business Rules you implement for the web client will not have any impact in the classic client or the Explorer application. Business Rules implemented in the web client would have to be re-implemented using custom workflow code in the classic client.
