We have QTP and ALM and we run QTP Tests from ALM which in turn logs each test run for each test instance.
I want to get an automated report which will show each of our regression tests and their duration.
Using the new excel report I have built up this query which gives me the info I want, but I want this report to be automated, so say at 10am when all regression tests have finished it will grab the data and display it in some sort of trend graph plotting duration so we can check for any spikes etc.
Thanks in advance!
SELECT RUN_CRITERIA.RCR_NAME, RUN.RN_STATUS, RUN.RN_DURATION, RUN.RN_EXECUTION_DATE, RUN.RN_EXECUTION_TIME
FROM RUN, RUN_CRITERIA
WHERE RUN.RN_RUN_ID = RCR_RUN_ID AND
(RUN_CRITERIA.RCR_NAME ='CtFReadOnly' OR
RUN_CRITERIA.RCR_NAME ='CtFEndtoEnd' OR
RUN_CRITERIA.RCR_NAME ='fusionReadOnly' OR
RUN_CRITERIA.RCR_NAME ='fusionEndtoEnd' OR
RUN_CRITERIA.RCR_NAME ='ExtendedfusionEndtoEnd') AND
RN_STATUS = 'Passed'
ORDER BY RUN_CRITERIA.RCR_NAME ASC, RUN.RN_EXECUTION_DATE ASC, RUN.RN_EXECUTION_TIME ASC
I have had an idea for a while to use a .vbs file that has an endless loop. It can keep looking at the system time and launching scripts using OTA when particular times are reached. The Microsoft scheduler may make more sense, but I wonder if it could work.
