i have some perl scripts for preparing the testenvironment. Here i copy some files, edit some, load data into the DB specific to the testset which should be executed next.
To increase automation, i want to create a test that executes my perl script, which should be executed first in every testset.
Till now i did not managed to get a VAPI-XP Perl Test running which executes my script. After searching the net, i found that a "Custom Test Type" could be a second possibility to solve this. But like VAPI-XP, i did not get this up and running. Here my Questions:
1) How can i execute the perlscripts which are already there, and get their output as testresult in QC/ALM
1.1) I like to store them inside QC/ALM like the QTP scripts used for automating the rest of the test
2) How can i provide parameters to my scripts? E.g. for loading a specific testdata set into the DB
Roland, I've done this in the past couple of years... I can help.
The only issue is you need to find out Active Perl and install/setup on your machine. There are a lot of restrictions in VAPI-XP tests, but I've managed FINALLY to get Python tests running from QC and that was NO easy task!
