How to remove the Attachments from the Test lab
My project required very frequent Regression testing. For that we are using same set of test cases everytime. However my client does not like to keep the old attachments which we have attached during last run. Everytime i'm having hard time to remove all the attachments from 250+ test cases. Does there any simple and easy way to remove all the attachments with less effort.
Your support is highly appriciated.
Are you adding the attachments to the test run or to the test script when executing? If you're adding them to the test run then they shouldn't be carried forward when you copy the test folder to your new regression cycle.
(From what you've said above though, I suspect that rather than copying the test set and then running from the new folder, you're simply rerunning the same tests over and over again in the same folder)
we are attaching the screenshots to the Test script. and also We are copying same tests to new folder for each release.
There's your problem then. When you first create your test set in Test Lab and copy your tests over from Test Plan you are creating a Test Run, which contains Test Instances of the test script from Test Plan and not actually the test scripts themselves; if you attach your screenshots to the test run instead of the test script then every time you copy the folder you create a new test run and the screenshot attachments shouldn't be copied.
When you add an attachment select either the "Attach to Run" or the "Attach to Step" option, but when the dialog box pops up at the end to ask you to save your changes to the test script / test plan, select "No" and your changes/attachments will only be saved to the current test run.
