Keeping the test cases in QC Test Plan in same sequence from exported Excel file
Normally, we create our test cases using Excel where test case #1 is followed by #2 , then #3 , etc. so that when #5 has dependency on #2 , you don't want to see #5 ahead or on top of #2 .
When the test cases are exported to Quality Center, the main columns we use are the Subject, Test Name, Test Steps, Description, and Expected Results.
On the QC side, the test cases in Test Plan are alphabetically listed/sorted by the Test Name field. If the first character of test case #5 is "A", for example, and #2 starts with "B", then test case #5 will be listed ahead or on top of test case #2 .
The work-around I am using now is by appending some sort of numbering scheme in the Test Name field. It works fine but, this may not be the best solution.
What do you guys do to keep the test cases in QC Test Plan retain their original sequence as when they are in Excel?

Reason: to make correction
Check the view order filter in the test plan, it is probably set to test name. You might be able to use some other sort to get what you want.
Patience is like bread I say.... I ran out of that yesterday.
Thank you gencke. I will definitely check your suggestion out.
Sorry, I typed the wrong thing. I meant to say that the items are sorted alphabetically by Test Name not Test Description. Let me edit the original Post.
However, in the QC Test Plan Tree View pane or the area which contains the Folders/subfolders followed by the Test Name, there are no other items displayed so I'm not sure how else the view order can be filtered.
I did check the view order filter and nothing is set for filtering. I also check the QC Online Help and the only Sorting done in this Test Plan Tree area is sorting by folders which makes sense since the only other items you'll find are the Test Names of the test cases. These Test Names that were created from exporting the test cases from Excel are listed alphabetically by default. So if you have 100 test cases in Excel, for example, and you wanted to have these test cases exported to QC in the same order that you have them in Excel, the Excel Add-in to export to QC does not seem to have an option like "retain the order of the test cases" or something like that. Again, appending each Test Name with some numbering scheme like TC10001_Sample test case1, TC10002_Sample test case2, etc. is the only solution I have used so far. Otherwise, your test case #10 could show up as test case #50 in QC after the export and so on...
