    Warning Message at authentication screen or just after login

    Hello,

    Our company has asked us to publish a "Warning" about the types of data that should never be entered / uploaded into an HP QC project, such as SS numbers, credit card info, etc. They want either a message added somewhere on the main QC authentication screen, and/or a popup just after someone logs in advising the user of what data they are forbidden to enter into HP QC. I am reaching out to this group to ask for ideas of how I might accomplish this? Any advice is appreciated.

    Best regards,
    Mark

    the simple solution is to put a msgbox into the _CanLogIn subfunction.

    If you wanted to make it pretty, you could instantiate a small internet explorer window - meaning you could use pretty colours, fonts, tables etc..

    Yes, that would be the easiest. I wanted to see what other options there are beyond this. Thanks for the suggestion however.

    If you have an internal site with the "rules" already displayed; then create the internet explorer window - at whatever size you want - and then simply use .Navigate() to point it there.

    Ie.
    Code:
    Dim IE, myURL
    myURL = "http://this_is_where_the_page_with_the_rules_is/" 'wiki, sharepoint, company intranet..
    Set IE = CreateObject("InternetExplorer.Application")

    With IE
      .AddressBar = False
      .ToolBar = False
      .StatusBar = False
      .Resizable = True
      .Width = 700
      .Height = 500
      .Visible = True
      .Navigate(myURL)
    End With
    If you can't put the warning message on a page outside the project(s), then you can still put any html you want in the page to render it nicely.

    The other advantage of this approach is that it's not application modal like a msgbox..
