How to track down how many times a defect has changed SEVERITY (value)
Looking for a quick solution on how to track down how many times a defect has changed SEVERITY grading/value from A to B, or B to C, etc...
tried looking in the audit log for the project, it doesn't pick up Severity, it only looks at STATUS.
My guess would be a SQL query.
Anyone has any ideas?
Thanks and regards,
I am assuming that you only need to do this for a small amount of defects that are being contended.
In this case go to the defect in question.
navigate to the History tab.
Select the FIELD drop down list.
Filter on SEVERITY.
You'll then see all the severity changes for the defect, who changed it and when.
well, yes, that's what i was doing to begin with, since i was only supposed to look at a few defects. But then the requirment turned out to be for a few good hundred defects... problem is that audit_log doesn't bring up anything on severity. so my team created this query, which matches the audit_log with severity tables.
SELECT BG_BUG_ID,BG_SEVERITY, Audit_properties.AP_OLD_VALUE as "OLD Severity Value", Audit_properties.AP_NEW_VALUE as "NEW Severity Value",
FROM [xxxxxx_db].[td].AUDIT_LOG, [xxxxxxxx_db].[td].AUDIT_PROPERTIES,
where ap_table_name = 'BUG'
and ap_field_name = 'BG_SEVERITY'
and au_action_id = AP_ACTION_ID
and BUG.BG_BUG_ID = AU_ENTITY_ID
and Audit_properties.AP_OLD_VALUE is not null
order by bg_bug_id,Audit_log.au_action_id
It's actually what i needed, to see the bug ids vs. old vs. new values on severity...
