How to disable the filter sort?
Please look into the attached snap shot, we would like to disable this filter options for all the columns in defect main screen.
Actually we are getting a issue, when the filter is applied and if a defect is modified, the same defect informations are getting overwritten on the next defect. Since we are not able to find the solution we would like to disable the filter option.
Please guide me..
Do NOT update anything directly from the Submissions status screen.
Double click on the Submission to open the Submission details screen and do your changes from there.
you will not have the problem again.
Well, that's actually the wrong approach, people are mostly using the grid view to update their defects, i know all my teams are doing it, as opposed to editing defect by defect.
To answer the initial question, you can disable the filter by going to the VIEWS menu, untick GRID FILTERS.
However, you're treating the symptom when you should be looking at the root cause of your issue, which is: QC should not update any other defect except the selected one, no matter what the filter is set on.
Therefore, i recommend that you either:
1) make sure that you have the latest patches installed for QC (from the screenshot I see that you're on 9.x)
2) log a ticket with HP support to have it invesigated. If you're on 9.2 you might have an issue with that because it's not supported anymore.
Anyway, hope you resolve your issue.
Thanks for your response.
@Warpig - We are getting the issue in both the type of update (directly updating in the defects grid and open the ticket and update it).
@Mihai.Grigirescu - We dont have control on all the client machine for unticking the Grid filter. Please let me know whether we can control disable the Grid filter through workflow?
1. We are in 10.0 and this issue appears even in Patch 28.
2. We have already logged a ticket 2 months back and still we havnot received any positive response from the HP Support.
Please guide me if any possible way is availble.
Thanks in Advance.
Unfortunately I am not aware of how or if it's possible to do it through the workflow. tclasp or justhuman, any ideas?
For #2, you need to escalate- if you write emails to the 1st level support you won't get any answers. Here's what i would do:
Phone HP support, ask to speak to the DUTY MANAGER. give them the ticket number and explain the urgency of the situation (make sure to blatently exagerate). That's the only way to make R&D actually get involved.
I used 10 a lot and as far as i remember i never had this issue (had many other nonetheless).
Sorry can't help more. Let me know how it goes.
Finally we have got the workaround for this defect overqwritten issue.
* On Workflow script editor go to “Defect module script section” and include those lines:
Bug_Changed = False
2. * Remove the Actions.Action("act_refresh").execute line from Bug_AfterPost method and add the following:
Bug_Changed = true
3. *Now, into Bug_MoveTo method, include the following lines:
if (Bug_Changed) then
Bug_Changed = false
Summarizing the meaning of the code, Bug_Changed is just a flag that will be active only if any change is posted into the database, that will trigger the action of refresh since Bug_MoveTo is executed as next action.
Since this flag will remains disabled (false) if not changes are done, the moveTo method will not execute the action and not extra work will be added when you use this module.
