make field mandatory when other field changes

    Hi All

I have a field called "Defect Status" (under User Fields)
and a fieled called "Closed in Component Version" (under System Fields) .
I want to make “Closed in Component Version” field mandatory only when Defect Status is changed to VERIFIED

I guess its relates to the Script editor but I dont know what modification needs to be done

    thanks

Re: make field mandatory when other field changes

    Hi Arikc,

Here is the change you have to implement:

    Sub Bug_FieldChange(FieldName)

    if (FieldName = DEFECT_STATUS) then
    if Bug_Fields.Field("DEFECT_STATUS").Value = "VERIFIED" then

    Bug_Fields.Field("Closed in Component Version").IsRequired = True
    else
    Bug_Fields.Field("Closed in Component Version").IsRequired = False

    End If
    End If
    End sub

Note: You may set the field names as per your project entities.

Re: make field mandatory when other field changes

I tried this but it didnt work

the only thing that worked was

    If FieldName= "DEFECT_STATUS" then
    Select case Bug_Fields("DEFECT_STATUS").Value
    case "Verified"
    Bug_Fields("BG_Closing_Version").IsRequired=True
    End Select
    End If
