I am used to the possibility to create tests, link these tests in multiple test sets (the same tests each time) and then set the test coverage of different requirements with these different test sets (switching to tab test lab tree) from HPQC 9.
The result is that not a test it self is linked in a requirement but only one instance each time.
I use this to make my tests as templates, e.g. general tests about one input field become one template test set that can be instanciated multiple times by simply selecting a copy of that test set in the test coverage.
Here is my problem: is it just our instance of ALM 11 or does the possibility to set the test coverage in reuqirements by test sets no longer exist?
What would be an alternative, when I dont want to copy every single test case?
To point that out: using the same test in different requirements' test coverage directly means that no matter how many test sets, the latest run of one test affects the direct cover status of all requirements includign that test, while using test instances of the same test would only affect the one requirement the corresponding test instance was just run (in the corresponding test set)...
In my ALM QC v11, the Test Coverage tab associated with a requirement gives me the option to Select tests. When I click that, the Test Plan Tree displays. There is also an option to use the Test Configurations data for coverage.
