    automatic cycle structure

    Hello
    I need to create the structure of cycles automatically when creating a new release. and not what the event should trigger this functionality.
    Should be in "ActionCanExecute" or "Release_AfterPost" ... what would be the event?

    EDIT Aditional Info: QC 10.00

    Re: automatic cycle structure

    Release_AfterPost is probably fine. You just have to make sure that you include a check to confirm that you are creating a new release and not modifing and existing one.

    Cheers,
    Brendan.

    Re: automatic cycle structure

    i Try with

    Set cyclFac = TDConnection.CycleFactory
    Set cycle = cyclFac.AddItem(Null)
    cycle.Name = "Cycle 1"
    cycle.StartDate = DateTime.Now
    cycle.EndDate = DateTime.Now + 30
    cycle.Post

    and the following error appears

    Error at Line 1058, (character 5)
    Unexpected empty parameter.:
    ====================
    Set cyclFac = TDConnection.CycleFactory
    ==> Set cycle = cyclFac.AddItem(Null)
    cycle.Name = "Cycle 1"
    ====================

    Re: automatic cycle structure

    That line looks fine. Maybe try getting the cycle factory from the release you've just created and try again. The probelm may be that it expects to know the parent when creating a cycle.

    Cheers,
    Brendan.

    Re: automatic cycle structure FIXED

    I Fixed it

    Set RelFac = TDConnection.ReleaseFactory
    Set fac = RelFac.Item(Release_Fields("REL_ID").value)
    set cyclFac = fac.CycleFactory
    Set cycle = cyclFac.AddItem(null)
    cycle.Name = "1.- Prueba de Sistemas"
    cycle.Post
    Set cycle = cyclFac.AddItem(Null)
    cycle.Name = "2.- Interbloque"
    cycle.Post

    It Work´s
