QC Requirement - Changing direct cover status
We have added some new items to the direct cover status (like Implicit/Not Testable). The implicit means that it is covered but we do not have a dedicated test for it (otherwise the system would simply not be running)
Some requirements are set to those states.
Now, we have some test cases linked to those requirements but they stay as the state that was set e.g. "Implicit".
Is there a way to reset the direct cover state or to overrule the direct cover state that from the moment a test case is linked it takes the result of the linked test case "No Run/Passed/Failed/Not Completed" ?
Re: QC Requirement - Changing direct cover status
I'd be inclined to raise this one with HP, has the feel of a defect to me. I'd expect that when linking a test case to a requirement if test is the first to be linked then the direct cover status would inherit the execution status of the test. If it is not the first test to be linked then if the test has been run more recently than the other linked tests then the direct cover status is inherited from the newly linked test.
If you need something soon rather than later or HP claim it is a feature you'll need to do it in workflow. See the admin guide for how to add workflow.
