I want to ask a general question about managing and running tests in QC.
I am responsible for running tests for a banking applications. We have menus (about 20) and have options (screen) under these menus.
While working in QC, from which point of view I need to handle tests ?
Divide the tests to folders corresond to menus and sub-fodlers for screens ?
In this scenerio, How to handle Test Sets?
Or, just define as operations as Test Sets (as Credits, transfers etc.) and took all tests under corresponding Test Sets.
What is the best practice for it ?
What is general (or advided) number of tests in a Test Set ?
How many Test Sets I need to define and run for a Release cycle ? I mean, what numbers are normal ?
I see that too many test set means too many screens while planning test sets to work at night.
Can somone please help me on these, I really appreciate your help.
My Best Regards.
I look serious because I am serious.
Start with HP ALM best practices regarding project/folder structure implementation. this will help you define a folder structure for your tests.
Thanks for the advice Biggi, but as I see, there is no Best Practices documentation for testing.
Best Practices documents in the help file are as follow;
HP ALM Database Best Practices
HP ALM Upgrade Best Practices
HP ALM Business Models Module Best Practices
HP ALM Entities Sharing Best Practices
HP ALM Project Planning and Tracking Best Practices
Can you please tell me exact name of the document that can help me ? Thanks in advance.
